This project was inspired on the desire of the Plano 7th Ward of the Relief Society Committee to do a service project on behalf of mothers and babies that could feel the love of the Relief Society sisters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, this time of year. While looking for something to fulfill this purpose, we learned about Carrie Willard and her desire to start a project that could benefit moms in Zimbabwe, Africa. Carrie is Sister Garner's Aunt and when we learned about her plans to help these moms, we knew we found our December Service Project.

We started the activity with a prayer and then explained why we were doing the activity and how to assemble the kits. All the sisters got very involved putting together the kits and writing cards for these moms. Tram Nguyen even looked for a translator to write in their language so they could understand what we were writing. After finishing the kits, Brittney Garner shared the spiritual message, and it was just beautiful. She shared more about the needs of these moms in Zimbabwe and made a relation on how also Mary (the mother of Jesus) brought her baby in such humility and lowliest circumstances. She also invited the sisters if they were feeling or going through hard things to hold on to Christ. It was a very lovely night!
